A babymoon................. the precious, never to be had a again, time after you birth your baby. The first week or weeks, the first days, the first moments. A babymoon is a time where you gaze at your baby, reflect on their birth, take nourishing foods and drinks and recover as you settle into your new role as mother of the external babe.
Babymooning is a time for gazing, for smelling, for holding your baby. It is a time to ease into breastfeeding and get to know your baby's needs.
Your babymoon can be well supported by friends or family or both, as a time where you are nourished with meals (as well as your other family members) to help you recover and rejuvinate.
Taking the time to establish breastfeeding in this way has been crucial to my 4 successful breastfeeding relationships.
